PU paper leak case: No end in sight as police detain dozen more

Submitted by Editor on Tue, 2016-04-05 21:54 Bengaluru: The police have detained more than a dozen suspects including three insurance agents in connection with PU question paper leak, on Tuesday based on the information by prime accused Manjunatha, a PE teacher at a private college in Bengaluru.Police strongly suspect their involvement in aiding Manjunatha and hence, they may be arrested on Wednesday.Earlier in the day, Manjunath, Obalaraju, personal assistant to Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash R Patil and Rudrappa, PWD officer were produced before the court and they have been remanded to police custody till April 13.It may be recalled here that the CID officials probing the second PU Chemistry question paper leak case had arrested Obalaraju, Manjunatha and Rudrappa. Another prime accused Shivakumar, a retired teacher, his son and nephew are also said to be involved in this case. Their handiwork in leaking the question paper is strongly suspected. Police are on intensive search operation to nab them.The Chemistry examination of second PUC was cancelled on March 21, after rumours spread that the question paper was leaked. The exam was rescheduled on March 31 but again the exam was cancelled for similar reasons. Now, the exam is scheduled for April 12.
