Submitted by Newseditor on Thu, 2015-11-26 20:23 Bengaluru: Unidentified miscreants looted Manappuram Gold Loan firm on Bommanahalli Main Road in South-East Bengaluru on Wednesday night after burgling into the office and fled with around 900 grams gold ornaments pledged by customers. The police suspect an insider job in the incident as the thieves did not break open the door and assume that they could have used a duplicate key to enter the firm. The incident came to light on Thursday morning, when the employees came for work. They informed the police about the incident. The Madiwala police rushed to the spot and examined it. The miscreants did not broke open the main door of the firm, but, they broke open the locker and took away gold ornaments kept in four boxes. The dog squad and finger print experts visited the crime scene and collected some crucial evidences from the there. “The miscreants had thrown chilli powder in the entire office presuming that it might divert sniffer dogs. We are suspecting some insiders’ job in the case and will question all the staff members to nab the miscreants,” a police officer said. The miscreants had disconnected the electricity and CCTV cameras soon after entering the premises before committing the burglary. There were no security guards for the firm, police added. The Madiwala police have taken up a case and further probe is underway. Recently, the city police had warned Manappuram gold loan and other firms to tighten the security at their business establishments after a gang looted a Manappuram Gold Loan firm near Jnanabharathi a month ago.
