Submitted by Newseditor on Thu, 2015-11-26 18:05 Bengaluru: Two persons have been arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police in Bengaluru for allegedly airing Star group channels illegally, when the firm had stopped signals due to non-payment of fee.   S Chandrashekhar (38) of J P Nagar and K Prabhu (26) of Electronic City, belonging to “Sagar E-Technologies Pvt Ltd” are the accused.   Police said that Sagar E-Technologies had a contract with Star Company to air their channels between October 28, 2014 to July 31, 2015 and the former owed dues of over Rs 73 lakh to the latter company. Hence Star Company blocked the signals. But, the accused aired the channels by using set top box of another firm illegally.   The Star Company noticed this and its regional manager Kevin John filed a complaint with the CCB. The police registered a case against the firm at Parappana Agrahara police station and arrested the duo for cheating Star Company.   The investigation reveals that Star Company has incurred a loss of Rs 28 lakh so far due to cheating by the accused persons. The further investigations are on.
