Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-03-19 21:16 Bengaluru: Four miscreants allegedly assaulted two employees of a petrol pump station in Madnayakanahalli and fled with their bag containing Rs 21.44 lakh on Saturday morning. The victims identified as Dodda Nagappa and Venkataramanaiah, both employees of Gati petrol pump in Madnayakanahalli. According to the police, the incident took place around 10.40pm in front of Jindal Public School on National Highway-4. The two told the police that they had left for the Chikkabidirakallu branch of Canara Bank to remit the funds around 10 am when they were attacked by the miscreants. The four men followed them in two bikes and deliberately collided with their bike from the rear. Dodd Nagappa, the rider and Venkataramanaiah, the pillion rider, fell down due to the impact. The suspects then sprayed chilli powder into their eyes and attacked with a lethal weapon injuring Venkataramanaiah. They snatched the bag from Venkataramanaiah and fled the scene, said the police. The police said that someone who knew Gati petrol bunk employees’ routine duty of remitting the funds must have carried out the attack.
