Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-03-12 10:38 Bengaluru: The transport department has begun cracking down on the recently launched 'Bike Taxis' which are illegally operating in Bengaluru under the Uber label. On Friday, a total of 62 'Bike Taxis', operating illegally without permits, were seized by officials in Rajajinagar, Indiranagar, Jayanagar and Yeshwantpur areas. According to officials, the motorcycles were carrying passengers after collecting money. The app devices provided by Uber were also seized for further investigation and action. Meanwhile, the department has also requested the public not to opt for bike taxis as they are illegal and unsafe.
