Submitted by Editor on Sat, 2016-03-05 21:10 Bengaluru: City police have arrested a 21-year-old painter for stabbing an 18-year-old PU student to death over a minor issue. The deceased, identified as Samson, was a resident of Jogupalya, while the accused Prakash, a painter, resided in Gopalan Lane near Ramaswamypalya. Police said the incident occurred at 9pm on Friday night. Samson and his friend Sunil were returning home from tuition when Prakash, who was riding a bicycle, rammed into Sunil, resulting in a heated argument between the two. As the war of words escalated, Prakash hit Sunil on the head. Angered over the assault, Samson slapped Prakash, following which Prakash stabbed Samson in the chest and fled the scene. Samson was rushed to a hospital but died on the way, said the police. “Following a complaint by Samson’s father, Balakrishna, a police team questioned Prakash’s parents. Based on the information, Prakash, who was hiding in a drain near his house, was arrested in two hours,” the police said, adding that he carried a knife always to threaten the youth in the locality.
