Submitted by Editor on Fri, 2016-03-04 20:00 Bengaluru: A Chief Manager at Syndicate Bank's Peenya Branch was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigaton (CBI) officials at his residence in Vijayanagar after he was caught red-handed accepting bribe from a customer for sanctioning a housing loan. The accused KC Mishra, a resident of Vijayanagar, was produced before the CBI special court on Friday and remanded in judicial custody till March 17. Based on a complaint against Mishra by N Ashok, a resident of Vidyaranyapura, CBI officials laid a trap on Thursday to nab the accused. As per the plan, the complainant reached accused's residence in Vijayanagar area along with his wife Shivagamy and paid Rs45,000 as bribe to Mishra. The officials from Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of CBI, who were at the scene, nabbed Mishra and seized the bribe amount. CBI officials also searched the residence of Mishra and seized some documents relating to the bank for further scrutiny. “The accused demanded and received bribe from the complainant as reward for having processed and disbursed the first installment of the housing loan of Rs46 lakhsanctioned for Ashok,” CBI source said.
