Submitted by Newseditor on Sat, 2015-11-21 19:04 Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch officials on Friday busted a cricket betting racket and arrested three bookies who were receiving amounts from the punters for Pakistan and England India match being played at Dubai. Based on a tip off, a team of officials raided Embassy Heritage Apartment near Mount Carmel College on Palace Road and arrested Manish Panjabi (38) Vybhav (35) and Sunil Kumar (38). The police have recovered Rs 9.2 lakh cash, a laptop and mobile phones from them. The accused are part of the inter-state cricket betting racket and were collecting the betting amount from their clients on behalf of prime accused Sukhdev from Rajasthan. According to the police, the accused had developed their own software exclusively for cricket betting racket and would give access to the punters to know the minute to minute trends on online betting. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody and efforts are on to nab the prime accused, who is on the run, R Ramesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime ) said.
