He has filed a complaint against his neighbour, Palani, accusing him of pelting stones at Nancy till she died. With the help of Vijay Nishanth, a philanthropist, Appu has approached the police seeking legal action against Palani and filed a complaint on Friday. Speaking to Bfirst.in, Vijay Nishanth,  said, “Nancy was just 3 months old and she was very sweet. But she was stoned till death by Palani. He has been accused of torturing dogs in the locality on several occasions.” “To put an end to this, me, along with friends, Harish and Uma Mohan, convinced Appu to filed a police complaint. We have sent the body of Nancy for post mortem and will get the report tomorrow. This kind of incidents should be eradicated. How can some individual exhibit inhumanity to this extent of killing animals? We were shocked when we came to know about the incident”, he added. Madhusudhan R, Police Sub Inspector of Sheshadripuram police station, told Bfirst.in, “I have come across this kind of complaint for the first time in my career. So far we have booked the complaint under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 429 (Mischief by killing any animal which value above Rs. 50),  and we are investigating the case. As the complainant has accused his neighbour Palani of causing the death, we will interrogate him. I have sent my staff to get Palani”. Indian Penal Code 429 (IPC Section 429):Mischief by killing or maiming cattle, etc., of any value or any animal of the value of fifty rupees.—Whoever commits mischief by killing, poisoning, maiming or rendering useless, any elephant, camel, horse, mule, buffalo, bull, cow or ox, whatever may be the value thereof, or any other animal of the value of fifty rupees or upwards, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine, or with both.
