Submitted by Editor on Sun, 2016-02-14 19:30 Bengaluru: The Hennur police are looking for a Nigerian man who attacked a woman of Uganda Origin with a knife in a restaurant, after she refused to buy him drink on last week. The woman, who was admitted to a private hospital for treatment, initially said that she had an accident, but later changed her statement, accusing Onsas of attacking her with knife. Shakira Nsonko, 30, who lives in Kukkenahalli alleged that she was pushed and attacked with a knife by Onsas on the night of February 10. Shakira said that night, she along with her friend Gifletin had gone to African Kitchen, a mess serving African food, in Banjara Layout in Kukkenhalli. Onsas arrived at the mess a few minutes after Shakira did. He asked her if she would buy him drinks. Shakira refused. According to Shakira, Onsas got angry and pushed and slapped her. With mess-owner Joy’s help, Shakira locked herself up in one of the rooms in the mess. Meanwhile, she called her boyfriend Tony who rushed to the spot to escort her to the safety. However, Onsas was waiting for her and once again pushed her around, before slashing her with a knife,” senior police official said. Inquiries by police revealed that Shakira and Onsas know each other. After the attack, Onsas apologized to Shakira and convinced her not to file a police complaint, promising to pay the medical bills. But, Shakira went ahead and filed a police complaint, after Onsas he failed to show up at the hospital. The police said that Shakira had no passport or travel documents. “We suspect that she is overstaying,” said a police officer. Police also said that they were on the lookout for Onsas, who is on the run.
