Submitted by Editor on Thu, 2016-02-11 21:51 Bengaluru: A 20- year old woman, who took the help of five of her associates in planning and robbing the house of her friend on Feb 2, has been arrested along with her associates. Police said the accused woman’s name was Ashwini and she was a resident of Peenya Dasarahalli. Her associates have been identified as Anand, 25, of Laggere, M Pavan Kumar, 19, of Magadi Road, M Bharath, 18, and Revanna, 20, both residents of Kamalanagar and Charan, 19, of Kurubarahalli. BS Lokesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South division), said that the gang led by Ashwini looted the house of her friend Rajeshwari in Narayana Nagar around7.45 pm on Feb 2 and fled with the valuables. The gang used pepper spray on Rajeshwari and later attacked her with a dagger. The police took the complaint lodged by Rajeshwari and nabbed the gang within a week. According to the police, the accused Ashwini, hailing from Bidar, had settled in Bengaluru. Ashwini wanted a change of house and required advance amount to carry out her wish. Her associates and co-accused Anand and Bharath were also staying with her for the past few days. Another accused Pavan also required money to pay his car loan instalments while another wanted to start his own dance classes. So all of them hatched a plan to rob Rajeshwari, said the police On Feb 2, Ashwini called Rajeshwari over the phone and sought her permission to spend one hour in Rajeshwari’s residence with her boyfriend. On obtaining Rajeshwari’s permission, Ashwini reached the house first followed by other accused persons. They attacked Rajeshwari and fled with the valuables. The Subramanyapura police, who arrested the accused, said that they had recovered stolen property worth Rs80,000 from the accused persons and also seized lethal weapons and a car.
