But the fight soon got out of hand after the ex-corporator abused the public for intervening in the fight, said the police. According to the police, the argument began when advocate Srinivas’s vehicle scraped the SUV of ex-corporator Narayana Swamy during parking at the Central Library. The accident resulted in a heated exchange of words between the two. The police said the verbal duel soon turned into a physical fight and attracted the attention of the public. Unhappy at the intervention of the public, Narayana Swamy reportedly abused the public. This, the police said, angered the public who attacked the ex-corporator and damaged his car as well. Shocked by the public reaction, Narayana swamy is said to have fled the scene while the advocate filed a complaint with the police. Speaking to Bfirst.in, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vinay A Gaonkar, Cubbon Park police, said the advocate’s car touched the ex-corporator’s vehicle while he was parking near the Central Library. “The ex-corporator then assaulted and abused the advocate. Many people rushed to the spot seeing the fight. They attacked and hit the ex-corporator after he abused them as well. Looking at the enraged public, the ex-corporator left the place,” he said. The Cubbon Park police have registered a complaint and are investigating the matter.
