Submitted by Editor on Thu, 2016-01-28 21:42 Bengaluru: A promising young life was cut short when a 24-year-old software engineer, also a singer, was killed after a milk tanker rammed into the two-wheeler in which she was riding pillion. The incident took place at the Cubbon Road Junction on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Madhura while her friend Shobha Rao, 26, who was riding the two-wheeler, sustained injuries. She is said to be out of danger. Madhura was the daughter of bank manager Ashok Patavardhan and Shantha, who hail from Bagalkot. Madhura’s father lived in Bagalkot but mother Shantha lived with Madhura in the city in an apartment in Mutthappa Block near RT Nagar along with Madhura’s younger brother. Police said that Madhura had completed M. Tech and had been employed with a firm located on Victoria Road. Her friend and colleague Shobha, who resided in Vidyaranyapura, used to pick up Madhura every day. On Thursday, they were on their way to the office on Shobha’s two-wheeler as usual. “While they were crossing Cubbon Road Junction at 9.50 am, a milk tanker hit their two-wheeler. Shobha fell to her left while Madhura, who was riding pillion wearing a helmet, fell to her right. Her head came under the wheels of the tanker. She succumbed on the way to a hospital,” the police said. Madhura was also a singer and had taken part in the popular singing show ‘Yede Thumbi Haduvenu’ a few years ago.
