Inspector Pawan Kumar of Oorgaum police station in KGF allegedly beat up M C Narayanaswamy, a constable attached to the Rayalpadu police station in Srinivasapura taluk of Kolar district. Sources said that both the policemen were deputed for the PM bandobust duty. “Narayanaswamy along with four other policemen came in a car and he parked the car in a place not meant for parking. Inspector Pawan Kumar, who was there on duty hurled abuses at Narayanaswamy and smashed the rear windshield of the car with his lathi. When Narayanaswamy questioned his demeanour, the inspector swung at Narayanaswamy with his lathi, leaving him bleeding. The other policemen on the spot intervened and stopped the inspector,” an official said. Later, Narayanaswamy reported the matter to Bengaluru Rural SP B Ramesh and then availed treatment at the Anekal government hospital. A case will be booked against the inspector, sources revealed.
