Submitted by Newseditor on Sat, 2015-12-26 20:51 Bengaluru: A 26-year-old man has been arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Thursday for allegedly being in possession of narcotic substance opium for selling purposes in the city and recovered 300 grams of opium worth Rs 4 lakh from him. The accused has been identified as Sumer Singh, a resident of Hosaguddada Halli in West Bengaluru. Police said that the Singh is employed with an electrical shop on SP Road and had hatched a plan to sell opium to earn some extra bucks. Investigation has revealed that he procured opium from his friend identified as Sharavana on SP Road. Police are on the lookout for Sharavan in order to find out the source of his supply. Police said that based on a tip-off the team raided on Singh's residence and found opium in his house. Further probe is underway. A case has been registered under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Bytarayanapura police station.
