Submitted by Newseditor on Mon, 2015-12-14 22:44 Bengaluru: Three persons have been arrested by the Girinagar Police, South Bengaluru for allegedly selling marijuana to the college students and public near an engineering college on Saturday and seized 6.6 kg of narcotics worth Rs70,000 from the the accused. The accused are identified as G Venkatesh (38) of Ramanagar, S Santosh (26) of Kengeri and M Hemanth (21) of Moodalapalya. Police said that a raid was conducted near the college premises in Hosakerehalli on Saturday. Police also seized Rs 900 cash from the accused. Preliminary investigation has revealed that Venkatesh is the kingpin of the racket and he used to purchase marijuana from his contacts and sell it to college students and others with the help of Santosh and Hemanth. Venkatesh brought it from the Magadi town and surrounding villages, where it was reaped illegally, it is said. A case has been registered at Girinagar police station and further probe is underway.
