Chasing a modest target of 127 runs on poor Nagpur pitch, India struggled against New Zealand spinners and were eventually bundled out for 79 runs with 10 balls to spare. None of the batsmen was able to contribute much to their side, with skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (30) and batting mainstay Virat Kohli (23) remained the only players to provide the side with some resistance. Mitchell Santner was the pick of the bowlers for Kane Williamson's side as he bagged four wickets for 11 runs. Besides Santner, Ish Sodhi scalped three wickets while Adam Milne and Natham McCullum also shared three wickets among themselves. Earlier, New Zealand had a dreadful start, losing their first three wickets for mere 21 runs after opting to bat first. But Corey Anderson steadied his side's inning from there and contributed significant 34 runs. Mitchell Satner and Luke Ronchi also provided an able support to their side and struck 18 and unbeaten 21, respectively. Santner was declared as the 'Man of the Match' for his significant contribution with both bat and ball. India will play their next match against fierce-rivals Pakistan at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday. (ANI)
