Darren Bravo withdraws from Windies World T20 squad

Submitted by Subeditor on Mon, 2016-02-15 13:04 Johannesburg: West Indies batsman Darren Bravo has pulled out of the squad for next month's World Twenty20 in order to concentrate on the longer forms of the game. The 27-year-old became the third West Indian after Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard to pull out of the T20 format's pinnacle event, which starts on March 8 in India. While asserting that he has a big part in the resurgence of West Indies cricket in the longer formats of the game, Bravo said that he would instead play in their regional first-class tournament so as to improve his skills and become a better batsman, Sport24 reported. The West Indies Cricket Board has not announced a replacement for Bravo yet while Ashley Nurse and Carlos Brathwaite will replace Narine and Pollard in the T20 squad . Meanwhile, the WICB confirmed that 12 of the original 15 picked by them for the tournament have signed the required contracts. (ANI)
