Submitted by Editor on Thu, 2016-01-14 17:04 Mangaluru: The Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike is organising “Sahabalveya Saagara” to promote communal harmony, on January 30 in Mangaluru. Activists from around 18 states are expected to participate in this event to be held at Town Hall. Addressing the media on Wednesday, Vedike General Secretary K L Ashok said that this coastal region has had a history of peaceful coexistence between various communities and cultures. The event was a way to remind this fact to people of the region, which is now regarded as communally sensitive. Activists will different parts of the State will arrive in Mangaluru via a rally on January 29. Writer Baraguru Ramachandrappa will inaugurate the event, psephologist and Swaraj Abhiyan leader Yogendra Yadav is expected to deliver the valedictory address. There will be talks on reformer Narayana Guru, Ullal Queen Rani Abbakka, freedom fighter Kudmal Ranga Rao and Bappa Beary.
